In the month of June, CHINH INDIA in cooperation with PLAN INTERNATIONAL organized an Animation Workshop in Nepal (Tansen, Palpa).
The idea of the five days workshop was to familiarize the 20 students from Maharaj Ganj district (age: 14 to 18 years) with the process of animation, starting with the development of a plot, creating and visualizing of characters and the production of the final animation with complete soundtrack.
Everything started with the understanding of animation with the help of the flipbook. The students were further introduced to different animation techniques like the creation of animation cycles, character development and story board.
In earlier workshops the students had been sensitised already to problems of gender based violence and corporal punishment. During the animation workshop the students were requested to develop characters and stories around this very topic and to prepare short animation sequences.
The students formed four groups: "Surya", "Talash", Chakde" and "Lakshay". They successfully drew their stories, scanned them and finally added the audio at the end of the workshop. The post-production of the animation films was taken care of by the animators from CHINH INDIA.
